Bernardt Vogel's path to VC has been defined by curiosity, empathy, and a passion for building a better future. Raised across Latin America, the U.S., and over 35 countries, Bernardt developed a global perspective from a young age. At just 21, Bernardt served as COO of a startup with operations in South Africa and Latin America. In two short years, he helped the company scale to 500+ employees and raise $42 million. This baptism by fire taught Bernardt how to rapidly grow and finance an early-stage venture. Eager to expand his skillset, he later obtained his MBA from Babson College, focusing on analytical and investment management skills.
As Investment Director at a Latin American private equity fund, Bernardt honed his diligence and value creation abilities. He researched promising sectors and led the acquisition of cash-flow generating assets like a 35MW geothermal plant. Bernardt also invested in Condor Gold, a publicly-listed exploration firm, further diversifying the fund's portfolio. Under his leadership, the fund produced a 22% IRR over seven years.
Today, Bernardt is a Senior Associate at VU Venture Partners and consults for New World Angels. Bernardt's investments span crypto, healthcare, and space. He networks extensively to source deals and finds fulfillment supporting exceptional founders.
Looking ahead, Bernardt aims to back ventures addressing financial inclusion, sustainability, and social progress. He plans to share his emerging market expertise to increase foreign investment in overlooked regions like Latin America. Bernardt also wants to provide networking and knowledge-sharing platforms for entrepreneurs globally.
